Venous Leakage: Treatment and Cure

Venous Leakage

If you are dealing with erectile dysfunction, you may wonder what is causing it. If you lead a low-stress life, it can become quite worrisome why you can’t maintain or achieve an erection. There are many physical reasons that you may not be able to get an erection, including old age or low blood pressure. There is another cause, which can be disturbing to think about, known as venous leakage.

In order for a penis to become erect, blood is pumped into the erectile tissue. This then makes the penis hard. If there is a problem with those veins, as in a tear, not enough blood can be pumped into the penis. If that happens, then there is no way for the penis to become hard and if it does, then the penis may only be a softly erect. Venous leakage can be caused by trauma, sexually transmitted diseases and more.

Venous Leakage Treatments

Venous Leakage Symptoms ImageIt can be worrisome, but there are ways that it can be treated. The first thing the doctor will do is diagnose it. This is done primarily through an x-ray with dye injected into the penis. In addition, a saline solution can be injected into the penis and the doctor can determine if there is a leak by how much solution must be injected in order to achieve an erection.

Once venous leakage has been diagnosed, treatment can begin. There are a number of ways that this type of erectile dysfunction can be treated. One of the most common is through medication that will help an erection be achieved, or repair leakage of the veins in the penis. Another, more common way, is for the doctor to provide tools for getting an erection. These include penis rings and penis pumps, which aid the individual in getting an erection. A third way, not used as much, is surgery. The doctor can perform surgery to repair the damage to the vein directly.

The good news is that venous leakage, one of the main causes of erectile dysfunction can be reversed and dealt with if the problem is identified by a doctor. Don’t just hope the problem goes away, get it dealt with immediately so you can be sexually active once again.
